HOLLYWOOD STRIKERS, FEARS CHATGPT… THE REMEDY ANTI-KRYPTONITE!

UNION STRIKE WARS & SUPER WARS!!!

The Writers Guild of America (WGA) took strike on May 2, 2023 their demands for the most part are sensible.

The main focus point in the labor dispute are the residuals from streaming media; and AMPTP's share of such residuals has cut much of the average incomes for writers' compared to a decade ago.

Other issues like ChatGPT concerns were alleged to have been glossed over by the studios. The WGA wanted to regulate the use of A.I and in addition assurance that it could not be used to write or rewrite literary works, and used as source material. The AMPTP rejected the guild’s proposals, and countered by offering annual meetings to discuss advancements in technology.

If addressed with an agreement the notion that it could somehow regulate the use of AI and when is unrealistic, because inspiration happens everywhere and in terms of fallibility a cheater will find a way to bend the rules, moreover studios will hire less because of AI regardless of any agreement... Job cuts will happen in all sectors of the studios.

The unions can not save every single member from unemployment as much as they would like, but what they can do is stem some of the bleeding.

Adaptation films are a chink in the armor, the unions need to partner or have an alliance with the top literary agencies and even publishing houses and use it in negotiations as leverage... solidarity will not be enough.

ChatGPT effects all who deals with the film industry. The guild must reimagine their position and create a film division.

Today’s writers must now become tomorrows content creators.

We can’t forget other independent writers and creators who are marginalized by the algorithm gods.

Some of the greatest works written and visual contents are not apart of the Hollywood machine, these content/social media creators need fresh ideas…and guess what they will use all tools at their disposal effectively including AI.

The implications are when these same individuals move further up in their career… major studios might turn a blind eye as to where his or her materials came from, depending on the situation.

A good amount of writers are not in a writers' room somewhere in any major city. As a veteran each writers' room is different.

If and when the AI issue is concluded it still would not protect writers who operates in a fair manner.

Most of those writers might be dwarfed with such tools available in the hands of someone who’s looking for a fast shortcut. There is no doubt these stupplers will cast a shadow on the rest their colleages.

ChatGPT potential corruption crosses lines, from the writer to the studio. The situation will become so problematic in the future all WGA members will have to take a polygraph test in order to keep their jobs… and vice versa.

The studios will have to find the best of the best from a very narrow pool and from smaller groups that are high concept writers … anyone in this line of work will have to bring both and more in order to be of great value.

There is no question union members as of today who are multi facet are of great demand. Writers who possess this quality are at a premium.

The incredible vase amount of talent lays outside the unions, on the fringes.

Identifying such individuals should not be a hard thing to do, the question is who will get to them first the unions or the studios?

One writer that comes to mind… Max Stravagar; over the years he has turned down film deals and publishers numerous times.

His body of work and concepts is the best you’ll ever read and he’s managed to do so repeatedly.

All of his ideas come from his mind, with no help or suggestions.

In other words he is his own A.I and more.

I’ve read all his books and many published years ago as far back as 2007 long before ChatGPT.

It is said every author has one good book in them, I’d like to add but a great one has a few and exceptional individuals have about five or seven, and above them are Super God Writers who have more than ten.

Beyond them are a very RARE breed who comes once in a lifetime and have the ability to write novels/stories/poetry/songs and screenplays in more than one genre effortlessly in addition produced in a short amount of time.

Max check marks all on the list and has proven his worth the problem his mistrust of the industry and his lack of visibility prevents him from taken the next step.

In recent years he has opened up and started blogging, dealing with human story issues. In addition posting advice for newbie writers.

he has gone as far as to form an independent film company.

Whether you want to believe it or not the golden age of human creativity is coming to an end… Max is the superman we all need but whose impervious to kryptonite.

He surely will not be tempted to cheat because he has no need to.

ChatGPT fears Max Stravagar!
